What is the Novasure Ablation?
Novasure endometrial ablation is a simple procedure that alters the lining of the uterus so that periods are either eliminated or made much lighter. It works by quick delivery of radiofrequency energy to the lining of the uterus that bleeds each month. It takes approximately 120 seconds and is done under sedation in a surgery center. The patient returns home in 1 hour and typically back to work in 48 hours if desired. Novasure is an outpatient procedure that can treat heavy periods, irregular periods, anemia, polyps, and fibroids less than 1.5cm in size. Why Choose Novasure?* It is completely scarless* Pain medications required are Motrin 600mg* Little or no downtime* May end periods permanently* May be combined with Tubal Ligation
I personally have had a great deal of success with this procedure. I have seen four patients require no post-operative pain medications at all. I have seen 60% of my patients have no period afterwards and I have also seen over 90% of my patients experience a significant improvement in their periods that was long lasting.
